I’m alive!
I say that because I wasn’t able to return my Moms call yesterday, and since I hadn’t posted all afternoon, and announced to “everyone” that Chris was away for the weekend, she of course assumed the worst and figured someone had kidnapped me. Oh Mom. Such a worrywart sometimes :)
I was merely enjoying the weather and running errands :)
Yesterday was a snacky kind of day. Here’s a quick recap.
After a 6.8 mile run (4 laps around East Campus), I filled my belly with a McIntosh apple and some yogurt.![]()
I used Stonyfield plain yogurt and added some cinnamon and crushed almonds.
About a half hour later I was ready for another snack.
So I melted some Manchego cheese on a Flat Out wrap.
Once I swapped my summer clothes for my winter clothes it was off to the dog park for a party to welcome home Stella!
This is Stella.
She is 4 years old and 5 lbs and our friends recently rescued her from a shelter. She is just the sweetest thing!
And what would be more appropriate at a party for Stella than Stella Artois?
I don’t think she’s named after the beer :)
There were also some snacks, which I helped my self to.
There were also some delicious chocolate muffins and a cake that I forgot to take a picture of.
The party had a good turn out and the dogs had a blast!
Some tricks.
Plenty of treat eating.

And some mulch eating.
Nylah somehow always manages to get beat up by dogs that are bigger than her. Poor thing.
She was one pooped pup afterwards!
Look at the size of that tongue!
So that is how I spent most if my Saturday afternoon. The weather was beautiful so I was happy to be outside!!
I am off to go paint some pottery and then I be back afterwards!

I used to be obsessed with Stella Artois! Now I don’t like it…so weird.
Great pictures of the dogs! They are so beautiful.
Hope you had fun painting pottery :)
I can’t believe how much Nylah looks like our Honey Brown when she was young. (Yes, she IS named after the beer!!) Now we should call her Grey Goose!!
We always call her Honey though – it was funny, when we first moved into this neighborhood, she would be outside and I would call her in “Honey – hey Honey!!!” Ed would do the same thing, “Honey – Honey!” Turns out the neighbors were talking about us – they thought we were so sweet – always calling each other ‘Honey’. We had a good laugh on that one!! Now we do call each other Honey because we are so old we can’t remember names!!!
Meg, my mom does the exact same thing even when I’m not alone for the weekend. Love the dog pictures!
hahah loveeee it when parents over react….but honestly deep down… we are greatful for their worry-wartedness right?
stella is adorablleee!!
and that picture of the yogurt/amond/apple combo is great…kudos to your picture-taking ability haha
Hi Meg… new reader here… waving… can’t remember now how i found you.. but I did.. anyhoo… i have two dogs I took to the dog park today! They’re mutts (half golden retriever/half standard poodle).. and big.. 60 and 70lbs… ohhhh they love the dog park!! I wanted to take pics but totally forgot.. just wanted you to know I am enjoying your blog!
I know I am going to be the same way when I have kids, so I try not to give her a hard time :)
That is THE prettiest breakfast platter I have ever seen! :)
