Happy Friday! Any East Coasters getting slammed with snow this weekend? Sadly, we have just been getting rain all day :( Buckets upon buckets of rain.

There’s no way I’m allowing the rain to put a damper on my mood though! Nope. No way. Not with the weekend right around the corner. Especially since I am getting together with my favorite Triangle bloggers tonight!

I also didn’t let my burnt milk dampen my mood either.IMG_8489Gew!

I sort of forgot about the milk on the burner so it boiled for a tad bit longer than usual.

I had to toss the oats and resort to another bowl of cereal instead.IMG_8494 Nature’s Path Blueberry Optimum.IMG_8496 I even got two blueberries this time! It must be my luck day :)

I stuck to one serving size of cereal, and had 1/2 a sandwich thin with almond butter and a bowl of pineapple to balance things outsIMG_8497IMG_8491The pineapple made me long for summer. Especially on this wet, dreary day!IMG_8498 The triad.

Lunch, oh lunch. Thanks for all your wonderful suggestions yesterday! I now have a game plan for next week :)

Today I had leftover salmon on top of romaine.IMG_8501

With carrots, jalapenos, and salt & pepper cashews.IMG_8504 I made a lemon dijon vinaigrette as a dressing and boy, oh boy was it delicious!

I eyeballed the measurements, but all I used was:

  • Olive oil
  • Lemon juice (fresh)
  • Dijon mustard
  • S & P
  • Garlic Powder

I also had a Braeburn apple.

On a fitness note –

I managed to squeeze in a 30 minute workout during lunch today. It went something like this:

11 minute Elliptical Pyramid

  • Minute 1 – level 5
  • Minute 2– level 6
  • Minute 3 – level 7
  • Minute 4 – level 8
  • Minute 5 – level 9
  • Minute 6 – level 10
  • Minute 7 – level 9
  • Minute 8 – level 8
  • Minute 9 – level 7
  • Minute 10 – level 6
  • Minute 11 –level 5

20 minute Treadmill Intervals

Interval #1

  • Minute 1 – speed 6.0, incline 1%
  • Minute 2 – speed 6.0, incline 1.5%
  • Minute 3 – speed 6.0, incline 2.0%
  • Minute 4 – speed 6.0, incline 2.5%
  • Minute 5 – speed 6.0, incline 3.0%

Interval #2

  • Minutes 1 –5: speed 7.0, incline 0%

Repeat both intervals but begin second hill intervals with a 2% incline thus ending at  4% incline.

I used to do hill intervals all the time when I was forced to run on the treadmill several months out of the year (thanks Boston!), but now that my main outdoor running routes are very hilly I usually keep the incline at 0% when I run on the treadmill. It gives me a nice break from my usual hills :)

Q for U-

Would you rather do speed intervals or hill intervals? I say speed. I love when I feel like my legs are flying!

Have a wonderful weekend!
