Well hello!

Wondering where I’ve been the past few days? In a bit of a pickle, that’s where I’ve been.

Here’s the lowdown of why I’ve been MIA and a quick recap of the weekend.

Chris received two job offers last week. YAY! One job offer is in Pittsburgh and the other is in Harrisburg. Looks like I’ll be heading back to my PA roots!

The problem is, we are having one heck of a time deciding which offer to accept. Hence the pickle.

Since I went to school outside of Pittsburgh and Chris’s Mom and Dad grew up in Pittsburgh, we both felt that we had enough knowledge of the city and surrounding suburbs to feel good about moving there.

Harrisburg, on the other hand, is a different story. Despite the fact that I grew up outside of Philadelphia, neither of us were familiar with Harrisburg at all and were unsure that we would fit in there.

So we decided to hop in the car and drive up north on Friday morning.

I did not document all of my eats, but I do remember that I had Grape-nuts with blueberries for breakfast, and peanut butter and jelly with potato chips for lunch.grapenuts PB&JPlus I had an apple and a peach for snacks.

Rather than get a hotel room in Harrisburg on Friday night, we made a pit stop in Philly and stayed at my parents.

We arrived around 4 p.m., after a seven hour drive, and stretched our legs by chasing my niece around in the yard.Libby Dinner was pizza from Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza.IMG_4554Anthony’s uses a coal-burning oven that provides a "well done" flavor, which is the chain’s trademark.IMG_4555 Chris and I got mushrooms, onions, and long hot peppers on ours.

I had two pieces.IMG_4556 SPICY yet delicious. I love anything well done!

For additional veggies I had a side salad.IMG_4557 With mixed greens, carrots, and cherry tomatoes in a vidalia onion dressing.

Friday night was a sleepless night for both of us as we were tossing and turning over the big decision!

On Saturday we had plans to drive to Harrisburg to check out the city and surrounding neighborhoods.  Even though we were going to be on our butts for the majority of the day again, we began with a hearty breakfast! IMG_4558 Waffles & fruit and bacon! I think I may have eaten a slice of bacon before I took a photo. I definitely had two.IMG_4559 For syrup I used Aunt Jemima. It’s what I grew up on and I love it :)

Lunch was consumed in Harrisburg at Panera Bread, one of my favorite lunch spots. My mind was a bit occupied and I did not take a photo of my tuna fish sandwich on honey wheat, pickle, and chips.

It was fantastic though.

After a few hours of driving around Hburg and a lot of help from a real estate agent, we made our way back to Philly rather than spending seven more hours in the car.

Boy am I happy that we went back to my parents because they cooked up a feast!IMG_4560 I forgot they were having my Aunt and Uncle over for dinner. We sort of crashed their party. :)

My plate.IMG_4561 What’s on there?

  • BBQ shrimp
  • Steak
  • Halibut
  • Roasted potatoes
  • Sugar snap peas

Plus I had bread.IMG_4563 Which ended up being slathered in butter.

Dessert was an un-photographed slice of pound cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. YUM.

Saturday night was yet another sleepless night.

What to do, what to do?!

This morning we got up bright and early so we could get the show on the road and make our way back to Durham.

Breakfast was a delicious toasted sesame bagel.IMG_4564 Half with peanut butter, half with butter. I just could resist the butter!

Plus a side of fresh fruit.IMG_4565Which included watermelon, pineapple, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries.

And lunch was turkey sandwiches what we made at my parents house to bring on the road. pretzels, and fruit.

Now we are safe and sound back in Durham still trying to make a decision. ARGH.

Since we spent over 20 hours in a car the past three days I immediately hit up the gym when we got home and went for a 3 mile walk at 4.0 that included frequently changing the incline between 2.o and 1o.o. If it weren’t 100 degrees and thunder storming I would have walked outside and not on the treadmill.

It felt great to stretch my legs!

Chris has to make a decision on which job to accept by tomorrow, so hopefully I will be able to share the big new with you!!

Pittsburgh or Harrisburg? Pittsburgh or Harrisburg?

Hope you guys had a great weekend!
